You know a project is going well when Mother Nature joins in!

She was clearly sick of everyone complaining about the lack of snow and decided she wasn't going to take it anymore! Hello winter wonderland...

The freezing weather made it a little difficult for collecting old rocks though...

As for listening to rock...Queen, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, Metallica... Guitar Hero "Rock the 80s" would be so appropriate today if Kevin didn't have the Playstation at his house. But that's okay, my air guitar will do :)

Okay, another confession. We really don't even know what Three Kings Day is. I mean, I know it's in celebration of the day that the three wisemen found Christ...right? Maybe? But I really don't know where they celebrate it or what they do besides put candy in your shoes. Instead of doing our research, we just kinda let it slide. My bad!

We did cuddle though :) My dad's been looking forward to this one all week! I was gone last night, but when I came home my parents were both on the love seat watching Harry Potter...I bet they cuddled :)

And OF COURSE we ate some beans...with some rice and a lot of other deliciousness on our Cafe Rio salads! Our favorite!

So...here's the deal. And I don't want you to think any less of me. But...I didn't do any of those things. I don't actually know how to fly? So that would've been kinda hard...And I didn't watch Chicken Run, but I most definitely intend to watch it tomorrow night! Apparently homework takes priority over animated chickens...details.

Also. I didn't learn how to speak bird. But my mom already knows how!

She's like a bird whisperer! All she has to do is say "Hey pretty birdy!" and they just start chirping right back, it's the strangest thing. She's got skills, my mother does.

Although I didn't fly or watch Chicken Run, I DID see some birds while passing by the park today. My mother and I sang them a very special song--Happy Bird Day to You! (to the tune of the Happy Birthday song...you probably know it...) It was a tender moment for all of us.

We also ate turkey burgers for dinner. Thanks for dinner, birdies.

Every day is Drinking Straw Day in the life of a Diet Coke addict...ahem.

We also celebrated Festival of Sleep day and J.R.R. Tolkein day!

I celebrated by sleeping until 9:30, which doesn't happen often during the school year (unless you only take classes three days a week :D )

As I wasn't feeling too well today, I stayed home from work and watched the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring with my mother, even though she watched all three with my dad last week. What a sport. Anyway, that was my second time watching it all the way through, but only the first time that I made it all the way through AND actually paid attention! It wasn't too bad! I think I might even watch the other two now...

As it's still Festival of Sleep day, I'm mandating an early bed time in my basement--lights out by 11! After all, we've got to prepare for Trivia Day tomorrow, right? I need my mind to be well rested and ready for all of the great random facts we'll be learning...

Day 2 of our celebrations required a little participation from everyone's favorite cat, Oreo.

Needless to say, he was THRILLED with this little project...

We might've fed him treats while trying to get the hat on...we believe in bribery, okay?? Happy New Year to all the kitties.

Today was also Personal Trainer day, so my parents celebrated that for us by going to the gym! They're such good people. I would've gone, but I think my cough would've killed me, and it was also the first day of spring semester! School could've gone a little bit better...but I think I've got things figured out...eh.

We're starting to celebrate one of tomorrow's holidays a little early...Festival of Sleep day. This one just might be my favorite...

I only had two resolutions for 2011.

1. Graduate from high school.
2. Don't die.

Success? I say yes.

Those are my basic resolutions for this year as well. Graduate with my associates...and don't die. They seem like worthy goals to me.

But as I mentioned before, I'm dragging my family into a more...elaborate? New Year's resolution...celebrate at least one holiday every day. My grandma predicted we'd last two weeks; I said the end of January. I guess we'll see how it goes...but so far so good!

I think we did a pretty good job of not stealing copyrighted stuff....go us! Most of our resolutions involved losing weight, getting better grades and partying a lot. Sounds pretty good to me!
